About the muse of
Le Rêve de Soie

Satine,
La Muse du Rêve

There is a strange thing that keeps happening in the venue of dreams, Le Rêve de Soie. It first started in the year 2000 when the most loved burlesque dancer in the cabaret fell severely ill. That time's Satine was pregnant with her first daughter when she suddenly could no longer walk and started to lose her eyesight.Unfortunately, the doctor couldn't name a specific illness, and she was only given some basic treatment due to the difficulty in diagnosing the disease.On her final day, just two years after her daughter was born, she wished that her daughter would not step into the world of cabaret, let alone follow in her footsteps as a burlesque dancer. However, if she ever decided to be one, she prayed that her daughter would be the muse of dreams, whose life would be full of love.Satine, Satine. Nobody knows who started this, but after the passing of Satine, who became the very first Satine, people started choosing one burlesque dancer as the sole muse of Le Rêve de Soie.Eventually, Satine became a title given to those burlesque dancers whose fame exceeded other performers, whose names captivated people's hearts and kept the venue of dreams alive. You can't simply be pretty to be Satine; you can't simply be good at dancing to be the sole muse of dreams. You can't just decide you want to be Satine—because nobody has the ability to do that, not even the madame who owns Le Rêve de Soie.La Muse du Rêve is a blessing—as much as it is a curse. Because whoever is named Satine, La Muse du Rêve (Satine, The Muse of the Dream), will soon suffer from the same sickness as the first Satine. They call the disease ‘The Malady of Dream’; some would also call it ‘The Malady of Solitude’ as they assume the stars who shine the brightest might live a lonely life, and finally stay in a long, long dream and forget to come back alive.Some of them live a long time; some of them, just like the first Satine, lived a short, loveless life.

What about you?
What about you, Rayu,
who has been called this era's Satine?

    I couldn't promise anything, but I will always prioritize my writing partner first. I don't mind slow replies.
    DROP PLOT:
    I might drop our plot due to some reasons such as;
    - I feel uncomfortable with how our story unfolds due to personal preference.
    - Writers don't resonate on the same wavelength, which resulted in difficulty during the discussion.

    BOUNDARIES:
    I’m uncomfortable when people compare my writing to other writers. Whether it's writing from a best-selling author of all time, a writer in RP, CA, etc. Don’t give backhanded compliments. Don’t give unsolicited criticism.
    OTHERS:
    The idea behind this character was never to romanticize the morally questionable decisions in the story. Instead, it aims to highlight issues such as misogyny and class conflict, with the intention of criticizing and normalizing a conversation about these issues through literature.
